Update on Relocation of the Shooting Range

Here is some long awaited news.

We met with one of the MD of Rocky View planners on December 7, 2010. The meeting was for a final review of our draft ‘Redesignation Application’ package, for the new shooting range.  The planner was very impressed with the thoroughness of our application package.  The only significant change from our initial plan will be for a Direct Control By-Law. This specifically designates the land for a shooting range, and increases the application fee cost to $3,500.00.

The Redesignation Application was finalized and submitted to the MD of Rocky View on December 13, 2010.  The application process will take up to six months.  More work will be needed to prepare for the open public hearing when the application comes before council for approval.
